began in 2017 as a project of personal expression. It is a submission based magazine dedicated to highlighting the work of young artists of color. The term "gangst" is a clever little portmanteau. It describes the anxiety I and other people like me feel from the expectation forced on us. Brown kids don't make art, only messes and problems and danger and violence and excuses. We don't inhabit that stereotype. It makes some people anxious. It even makes some of us anxious. Gangst is the anxiety that comes when we reject that idea of us and embrace ourselves and our art. Gang + Angst = Gangst.

Try to use it in a sentence today.
